Sit back and relax while we show you the new features of the SMART
Notebook 10 software. If you
have been using a SMARTBoard in your classroom and noticed some
differences this fall when you powered up your computer, then this
is the class for you. We have
been using the Notebook 10 software all summer and are prepared to
show implementation ideas for the new features!
A hands-on portion will be
set aside for the last part of the workshop for you to play with
each new feature, as well as ask us questions and receive one-on-one

Beginner's Workshop
"What's It Good For Anyway?"/"Show Me How To Make That!"

We have recently added a beginners SMARTBoard training session to
our fall line-up of technology workshops in Tuscola, IL.
The morning, “What’s It Good For Anyway?” will include a
multitude of ideas on how to successfully incorporate the SMARTBoard
into your classroom.
From classroom management tools, to time saving tips, to interactive
lesson ideas, this workshop will help you understand the
capabilities of this awesome piece of classroom technology beyond
being a glorified whiteboard.
The afternoon session, “Show Me How To Make That!”
will be a hands-on step-by-step session to teach the
components of the SMART Notebook software.
Don’t let another day go by wishing you knew how to use your
board more effectively!

*The last hour will be an optional hands-on session for you
to bring materials on which to work with our assistance!

Wikis and Blogs for
the Beginner
Saturday ~ October 4th
(8:00-12:00 p.m.)
You have heard of these tools and maybe even seen educational
examples on the web. Still a
little confused by it all?
This session will show you HOW to create BOTH of these valuable
classroom tools. We will also
lead you through a hands-on portion to give you immediate practice
with your newly acquired skills.
Examples of how educators are using these two web 2.0 tools
will be introduced so you can successfully implement them in YOUR
classroom. Both blogs and wikis
can be used as classroom website alternatives that your kids can
help you develop. You will need to
have access to an email account during this session.
If you cannot access your email from outside your school, we
can show you how to easily register for a Gmail account during this
session.
ROE
11 Fall Classic in Charleston
Friday ~ October 10th -
NO NEED TO REGISTER WITH US!
Two sessions will be offered at this ROE Institute day. One
session will be for administrators and administrators-to-be.
We will show a multitude of ways that technology can be used in the
administrative role. In addition we can offer ways in which
you can support your teachers in the implementation of technology in
your current curriculum! Another session will be offered for
teachers. In this session we will show you new ideas for
technology integration and implementation. Bring an open mind,
sit back, relax and let us share some of our technology integration
ideas! (Make sure you BRING your cell phone!)
Podcasting with
Audacity and GCast
Saturday ~ November 1st (8:00-12:00 p.m.)
Podcasting has never been easier OR cheaper than through the use of
Audacity and GCast.
These two great resources are FREE!!
The first portion of this workshop will teach you the basics
of using Audacity to create an mp3 file.
The second portion will cover the steps needed to turn your
newly created mp3 file into a podcast that can be posted online for
student, parent, and community subscribers.
Join us for this fun and easy to follow workshop. You will
need to have access to an email account during this session.
If you cannot access your email from outside your school, we
can show you how to easily register for a Gmail account during this
session.
Google for Educators
Saturday ~ December 6th
(8:00-11:00 a.m.)
Did you know that Google offers a number of FREE tools that can
enhance what you teach?
Through the use of Google Docs, you can have students work
collaboratively from any computer to effectively generate documents,
spreadsheets, and presentations.
We can also show you how to use Google Spreadsheets to create
an online test that students can take from any computer.
Learn how to fully integrate Google Earth across the
curriculum with advanced placemarks, Google Alerts and Google
Sketch-up will also be demonstrated and discussed for classroom
implementation.
Each session can be taken individually, or join us for the entire fall series! Feel free to bring your teaching manuals or other resources to fully integrate technology into your CURRENT curriculum! It doesn't have to be "ONE MORE THING" to teach!
